Considering an automatic brewer such as the Sunbeam Tea Drop?

The quest for brewing the perfect cup of tea is challenged by the need for convenience and managing against time constraints.

The Sunbeam brewer makes tea much like a drip coffee maker. It can accommodate loose or bagged tea and the glass carafe has a seven-cup capacity.

This unit consists of a compact base with rear water reservoir, removable steeping basket, permanent steeping filter, removable tea channel, warming plate, and lid and glass carafe with curved stay-cool handle.

Here's how to use the automatic brewer…

1. Fill the reservoir with desired amount of cold water. Using good tasting, mineral-free water yields the best brew.
2. Add tea bags or loose tea to the steeping basket. The amount of tea to use varies by personal taste; yet, the standard amount is one teaspoon (or bag) per six-ounce cup of water
3. Choose the setting for the strength of tea you desire – mild, medium or strong.
4. Close the lid and press the on switch to begin brewing your tea.
5. The tea will begin to drip into the glass carafe and, after approximately 4 minutes, brewing will be completed and the tea is ready to be served. The time it takes to brew a pot of tea with varies based on the strength and amount of tea you are making.

While the tea maker streamlines the brewing process, the temperature of the water cannot be regulated to accommodate brewing requirements of different types of tea that may require boiling (or not boiling) the water for maximum taste and health benefits.

Yet, if you are looking for ease and convenience, the Sunbeam model or other similar brands such as Tea Spot's Tea Maestro and Adagio's triniTEA are viable options to consider.

These tea makers can be readily found in department stores, cooking shops, discount retailers and online.
