Advice On Matching DiamondsWhen you select a setting for your engagement ring that has side stones, style is not the only consideration. For best results, you need to match the side diamonds both to each other and to the center stone. If you buy a setting from us, we take care of the first matching dimension. All of the diamonds in our settings are carefully matched to complement each other. But the second factor requires some assistance from you. All settings we have in our Engagement Ring Department are set with fine diamonds. The quality we have selected is G-H VS1-VS2, much higher than the standard quality provided by most manufacturers. We do this because most of our customers choose diamonds above G VS1 in quality and these settings will accentuate these fine diamonds. When creating a ring, you should either match the center diamond with the side stones or have the side stones be one step down in quality from your center diamond. This highlights the beauty of your center stone. Color is the most important matching factor. If your diamond is less than a G in color, we recommend that you contact us and let us create a setting with diamonds that match your center stone. If you purchase an exceptionally fine diamond that is D or E in color, you may want to have us find side stones that are one step up in color, worthy of this diamond. You also may want to consider a setting with platinum prongs or an all-platinum setting to showcase the fine color of your center stone. And don't forget that we can also find beautiful sapphire, ruby, or other colored gemstone side stones for your engagement ring. Just let us know what you want and our trained client consultants can help you create the ring of your dreams. |
